Table of Contents

There is no fixed fare to Santorini. Each operator prices its own crossings, and the amount depends on the route, the ship, the seat class and the travel date. The lowest fare for your sailing appears when you pick a route and date above, and the departures that go with it are in the timetable.

What makes up the fare

Item What it depends on
Ticket per person Route, operator, ship and travel date
Seat or accommodation Deck, numbered seat, premium seat or cabin
Vehicle A separate item, by vehicle class, and only on ships with a vehicle deck
Reductions Age of the passenger, with a ticket of its own

The biggest difference on most routes is the type of ship. On the year-round link from Piraeus, Blue Star Ferries sails conventional ferries with cabins and a vehicle deck, while SeaJets runs high-speed craft that cover the distance in less time. Blue Star prices its fares by accommodation class, vehicle class and date, SeaJets prices its premium seat classes separately, and both show the amount for your sailing in the booking step.

Crete and the Cyclades

From Crete, Blue Star Ferries and SeaJets both serve Heraklion - Santorini in season, and a seat on a high-speed craft is the usual choice for a crossing of a few hours. Between the Cyclades the legs are short, and the fare depends on the leg and the ship: Golden Star Ferries runs high-speed car ferries with numbered seats from Rafina via Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Ios, and Small Cyclades Lines and Maistros Santorini price each leg of their island chains by date.

Children's reductions

Operator Children
Blue Star Ferries Under five free on a zero-fare ticket, half price with a bed or seat of their own
SeaJets Up to five free on an infant seat, five to ten half price
Golden Star Ferries Up to five free on a zero-fare ticket in economy class
Hellenic Seaways Under five free on a zero-fare ticket, half price with a seat of their own
Cyclades Fast Ferries Infants under four free on a zero-fare ticket

Every child needs a ticket, including the free ones, because tickets are issued by name. Minors under sixteen travel with Cyclades Fast Ferries only with an adult.

Luggage and pets

Luggage costs nothing extra on the main operators. Blue Star Ferries, SeaJets and Hellenic Seaways carry up to 50 kilos or one cubic metre per passenger free of charge, Golden Star Ferries up to 50 kilos, and Cyclades Fast Ferries carries hand luggage free. Pets travel on a free pet ticket with Blue Star Ferries, SeaJets and Hellenic Seaways, declared when you book.

Changes and cancellations

Each operator sets its own terms, and they tighten as departure gets closer. SeaJets refunds the full fare up to fourteen days before departure, 75 percent up to seven days and half up to twelve hours, and turns a ticket into an open-date ticket up to twelve hours before sailing, four hours on its conventional ships. Cyclades Fast Ferries cancels free of charge up to eight days before departure, with a penalty closer to sailing. With Blue Star Ferries the refund depends on the season and how far ahead you cancel, and with Golden Star Ferries it steps down with the time left before departure.
